Kaito Shutters Yaps Product Amid X API Access Loss and Token Decline
Kaito, a leading InfoFi project, is sunsetting its Yaps social media incentive product after losing access to X's API. The platform will refocus on alternative offerings as its native token flirts with historic lows.
The decision follows X's crackdown on automated crypto posting, which eliminated a key marketing channel for emerging tokens. Yaps had become a crucial tool for new projects lacking organic communities, particularly during its airdrop-driven growth phase.
"Platform-wide algorithm changes and inconsistent quality thresholds across InfoFi projects created unsustainable spam conditions," acknowledged founder Yu Hu. Kaito will now implement permission controls to curb low-quality content that drew regulatory scrutiny.
